Traveling is one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences in life. Whether it’s a quick weekend trip or a long adventure, exploring new places opens your eyes to different cultures, beautiful sceneries, and unforgettable memories. One of the best ways to get excited about a trip is when it is to one of your “dream destinations.” These are the places you’ve always wanted to visit that you just can’t stop thinking about.
For me, getting to finally visit some of my dream destinations has been incredibly rewarding. Take the Amalfi Coast in Italy, for example. I’d dreamed of seeing it for YEARS, and spent hours scrolling through social media looking at photos showing off the stunning views. When I finally stepped onto those sun-soaked shores, it felt like something truly magical. The cliffs, the vibrant colors, and the fresh air were everything I imagined and more. Being able to experience such a place in person was beyond fulfilling. Travel isn’t just about seeing new places. It’s about creating new memories while living out dreams, and every time I check off another dream destination, I’m reminded of how truly special it is to turn those dreams into reality.

Dream Places to Travel
Everyone has their own idea of what makes a “dream destination.” For some, it’s lying on stunning beaches with crystal clear waters, while others may dream of exploring historical sites or walking through a famous national park. I’ll be sharing a list of dream vacation destinations that you can add to your travel bucket list. These destinations range from tropical paradises to culturally rich cities, offering something for every kind of traveler.

35 Dream Vacation Destinations
Whether you’re traveling across the globe or staying closer to home, many dream vacation spots will leave you in awe. In this post, I’ve divided these dream destinations into two categories: dream vacation spots around the world and dream vacation spots in the USA.
How To Pick A Vacation Destination?
Choosing a dream vacation destination can feel overwhelming when the world is full of incredible places. I like to start with the vibe first, then work my way into logistics. Here are a few simple ways to narrow it down and actually feel excited about booking something.
Think About the Experience You Want
Do you want slow mornings on sandy beaches, long walks through historic streets, or a packed itinerary filled with museums and food? Some trips are about rest, others are about exploration, and knowing which one you’re craving makes the decision way easier.
Consider How Much Time You Have
A long-haul international trip hits differently than a quick day trip or long weekend escape. If you only have a few days, choosing a capital city or well-connected destination can help you maximize your time without feeling rushed.
Decide If This Is a “Once-in-a-Lifetime” Trip or a Repeat Destination
Some places feel like a one-and-done bucket list moment, while others are the kind of destinations you could return to over and over again. Thinking about that ahead of time can help guide how much you want to splurge, how far you want to go, and how packed your itinerary should be.
Balance Bucket List Sights With Real-Life Enjoyment
Yes, iconic spots are iconic for a reason. But your dream vacation should still feel enjoyable in real life, not exhausting. I always try to mix must-see attractions with slower moments like café hopping, scenic walks, or spontaneous exploring.
Think About Seasonality
Weather matters more than we think. Some destinations truly shine during certain times of year, whether that’s cherry blossom season, warm summer nights, or cooler shoulder seasons when crowds thin out and prices drop.
Dream Vacation Spots in the World
Some of the most beautiful and exciting vacation spots are located outside of the United States. These places offer unforgettable experiences, from beautiful beaches to historic sites.

Chic European Escapes
Paris, France
Paris is a dream destination for many, offering a mix of history, culture, and elegance. Known as “The City of Light,” Paris is famous for its iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and Notre Dame Cathedral. But it’s not just the sights that make Paris special; it’s the atmosphere, too. Strolling through charming streets, enjoying delicious pastries, or sitting in a café watching the world go by all add to the city’s magic.
We visited Paris for the first time to celebrate my birthday in the fall, and it could not have been any more perfect! Seriously, if you’re planning a visit, I couldn’t recommend going during the fall months more. Crowds were smaller, there were tons of events going on, and the fall foliage speaks for itself.
Here’s a little look into how my trip went—and what I’d recommend doing when you visit! First, I visited the Eiffel Tower early in the morning to snap a few shots. Here’s something people don’t brag about enough: the lack of crowds and sunrise. It’s definitely worth waking up early for. I also went on a lunch cruise on the Seine, visited The Louvre (grab early morning skip-the-line tickets and head straight to the Mona Lisa!), and grabbed Carette’s deliciously rich hot chocolate.
For dinner on our first night, we decided to enjoy the unlimited steak and frites at La Relais De L’Entrecote—and I’m so glad we did. It was delicious, and, honestly, one of our most memorable meals. And, of course, you can’t miss out on grabbing escargot from Chez Andre—it was 10/10! Paris is hands-down a city I plan on visiting over and over again.
Make it extra dreamy by booking my favorite Paris hotel we stayed in with an Eiffel Tower view!

Amalfi Coast, Italy
The Amalfi Coast in southern Italy is one of the most popular destinations for anyone who loves dramatic landscapes and history. The coast is dotted with colorful villages like Positano and Ravello, all perched on cliffs that overlook the Mediterranean Sea. Whether you’re walking through the charming streets, taking a boat tour, or enjoying delicious Italian food, the Amalfi Coast will leave you with lasting memories. You can also visit nearby Pompeii, one of the most famous historical sites in the world, where you can explore the ruins of a city frozen in time after a volcanic eruption thousands of years ago.
This area was high on my bucket list for years, and I was so excited to finally visit Positano in the Amalfi Coast, which I highly recommend! We stayed at Casa Albertina, which I would book again. It was an amazing spot with incredible views, a kind staff, and a fantastic price for May dates! We also did a boat tour, which gives you an entirely different perspective of the region.
Beach day is a must in Positano, but I definitely recommend getting there early to reserve your chairs. Also, don’t forget water shoes! The shore is full of pebbles. However, once you’re doing dipping in the water, eat lunch at Rada! The food is fantastic, plus you can sit at tables overlooking the beach. And for drinks afterwards, head to Franco’s bar for great views and even better drinks.
Pro tip: Book an early morning photo tour in a vintage fiat! It was such a unique experience—one that I’ll definitely be doing again.

Santorini is one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the world, and it’s easy to see why. It’s famous for its white buildings with blue roofs, stunning sunsets, and amazing views. Even when I had imagined it in my head for years, it still exceeded my expectations. And I get it—a lot of people talk about how tourist-y it is. But with the right planning? You can avoid crowds, hit the high points, and make the most of every second.
The island has clear blue waters, charming villages, and delicious Mediterranean food. Whether you’re relaxing on a black-sand beach, visiting ancient ruins, or enjoying fresh seafood by the sea, Santorini is the perfect place to relax, explore, and enjoy nature. Rome, Italy
Rome is one of those cities that feels like stepping into history itself, and it is definitely one of my favorite cities I have visited. With its ancient ruins, iconic landmarks like the Colosseum, and stunning architecture, it’s impossible not to feel awe-struck. Known for its iconic landmarks like the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Vatican, Rome offers travelers a glimpse into the past while surrounded by vibrant street life and rich culture.
Visitors can wander through cobblestone streets, explore centuries-old temples, and marvel at the stunning architecture of St. Peter’s Basilica. Whether it’s enjoying authentic Italian cuisine in a charming piazza or admiring Renaissance art in the Vatican Museums, Rome’s timeless allure never fails to leave a lasting impression.
If you’re looking for a truly one-of-a-kind experience, look on Airbnb. I was able to score a spot right next to the Trevi Fountain, and it was such an iconic spot. (As you can imagine!) This made visiting during fewer crowds and more open space so much easier. Plus, it was a great location for easy access to all of the other landmarks, too!

The food in New York is just as diverse, with everything from street vendors to fancy restaurants, offering flavors from all over the world.
For the best view of Times Square? Definitely stay in M Social Hotel right in Midtown. For something a little more budget-friendly but modern, I loved staying in citizenM. It’s also located in Midtown with a quick 1-minute walk to Times Square. Hotel Indigo was another favorite of mine, it’s right downtown—and has a rooftop bar!

I stayed at Caesars Palace—it was nice, central, and, of course, a must when visiting Vegas. But one of my favorite experiences? The Chandelier Bar in the Cosmopolitan next door. If you’e looking for somewhere to grab brunch at, Cheri was incredible (make sure you get the Spitz Purse Drink!). I also really loved the Mob Museum. Clearwater Beach, Florida
No spring break is really complete without a trip to Florida, right? I recently visited Clearwater, Florida, and had the most amazing time. Our goal was to stay somewhere walkable, and there was no better option than the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Suites. It was within perfect distance to tons of activities and restaurants, plus it had great beach access and a pool deck overlooking the gulf! If your goal is to enjoy both the weather and a less crowded community, I highly recommend visiting the last week of March/first week of April. The weather was perfectly warm, it wasn’t heavy on tourist traps, and it was seriously enjoyable every second we were there.

Savannah, Georgia
Savannah truly is as picturesque as it looks in person. The Southern live oaks draped in Spanish moss, rich history on every corner, and scenic storefronts full of artisan art and local goodies—it was like stepping into a movie. I visited for a week for a destination wedding, and I’m already looking forward to booking my next trip back.
My favorite places to visit were Forsyth Park, Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, and the Olde Pink House. As far as cocktails go, it doesn’t get better than the Alley Cat Lounge—which is actually an underground speakeasy! For food, I can’t recommend Treyler Park or Common Restaurant enough; both are incredible. And if you’re looking for something to fill your day, my absolute favorite activity was the American Prohibition Museum. It’s the first (and only!) museum dedicated to the prohibition.

How to Plan a Dream Vacation
Now that you have some amazing destinations in mind, it’s time to start planning your dream vacation. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your trip.
Choose the Right Destination for You
The first step is to pick a destination that matches your interests. Do you want to relax on a beautiful beach, like in Bora Bora or Hawaii? Or would you rather explore history, like in Jaipur or Rome? Think about what excites you the most — whether it’s outdoor activities, cultural experiences, or just unwinding in a tropical paradise.
Budget for Your Trip
A dream vacation needs a solid budget. Think about all the expenses, like flights, hotels, meals, activities, and travel insurance. Some places, like the Amalfi Coast or Iceland, can be expensive, while others, like Costa Rica, might be more affordable. Setting a clear budget will help you plan ahead and avoid any surprises. Remember to leave some room in your budget for miscellaneous expenses once you are at your dream destination.
Find the Best Place to Stay
Where you stay can have a big impact on your vacation. Some places, like Bora Bora or the Amalfi Coast, have luxurious resorts, while others, like Costa Rica or Yellowstone, offer more rustic choices. Be sure to research your accommodation options and book early, especially if you’re traveling during busy seasons.
Plan a Fun Itinerary
Once you’ve chosen your destination, plan an itinerary. Include a variety of activities that interest you, like visiting historical sites, hiking in national parks, or relaxing on beautiful beaches. Be sure to leave some free time to explore or just unwind.
Pack Smart
When packing for your trip, consider the activities you’ll be doing. For a beach destination, pack light clothes, swimwear, and sunscreen. If you’re heading to a national park or somewhere cooler, bring layers and comfortable shoes. Make sure to leave some room in your luggage for souvenirs. Also, don’t forget your camera to capture all the amazing moments!
See my go-to way to pack for a week in a carry-on!
What Is Your Dream Vacation?

Is it slow mornings and sunset swims on sandy beaches? Wandering through cities packed with historical landmarks and postcard-worthy streets? Or finally standing in front of a monument in the world you’ve had saved on your bucket list forever?
Some dream trips are all about iconic sights and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, while others are about the feeling. Think café hopping, long walks, spontaneous day trips, and letting the itinerary breathe a little. Maybe it’s a capital city you’ve always wanted to explore, or maybe it’s a destination with pristine beaches where the only plan is no plan.
Your dream vacation doesn’t have to check every box or look like anyone else’s highlight reel. The best trips are the ones that match your travel style, your pace, and the experiences you’re craving right now. If this list helped spark ideas, narrow things down, or push you closer to finally booking something that’s been living rent-free in your head, then it’s doing its job.
