I just got back from a trip to Las Vegas (shoutout to Allegiant for that direct flight from Indy), and WOW—what a whirlwind. It’s loud, flashy, a little chaotic, and pretty magical. Honestly, Las Vegas is one of my dream vacation destinations. Between the lights, the music, the fountain shows, and the nonstop ding-ding-ding of the casinos, it’s easy to get swept up in the energy. I loved every second!
Now, if you think Vegas is just about clubbing and gambling, let me stop you right there. This city has so much more to offer. You can watch world-class shows at The Sphere, chill at dreamy pool clubs, eat at Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen, and enjoy plenty of scenic drives. Or, yes, dance the night away at some of the most iconic nightclubs in the world.
Whether you’re planning a girls’ trip or a quick couple’s getaway, Vegas truly has a little something for everyone. But figuring out what to pack? That’s where things get a little tricky.
That’s why I’m sharing my go-to Las Vegas packing list. It’s built for all the outfit changes, weather shifts, and spontaneous adventures Sin City throws your way. Whether you’re sipping cocktails poolside or strutting down The Strip, you’ll look good doing it.

Las Vegas Packing List: What You Actually Need in Sin City
Las Vegas really is its own little universe. From high-end restaurants to exclusive clubs, you’re going to run into way more outfit rules than you’d ever find at home.
That’s why packing smart is key. To make sure you can walk into any lounge, restaurant, or show without a hiccup, I’ve put together a Las Vegas packing list that covers every occasion. Trust me—if there’s one place where overpacking is totally acceptable, it’s Vegas.
Is There a Dress Code in Las Vegas?
Yes… and no. Vegas itself doesn’t have an official dress code, but plenty of places within the city definitely do. You’ll be fine strolling through most casinos in casual wear, so you can be more lenient there. But if you’re headed somewhere upscale—like The Wynn or Bellagio—expect a more elevated vibe.
For nightclubs, the dress code gets real. Ladies, think cocktail dresses, cute jumpsuits, and heels. Leave the flip-flops and sneakers behind. Guys, you’re looking at collared shirts, slacks or dark jeans, and dress shoes. Basically: dress like you’re ready to sip overpriced cocktails and dance under a chandelier.
Now for pool days: if you’re just lounging, a cute swimsuit and cover-up will do the trick. But if you’re hitting a dayclub (hey, Encore Beach Club or Marquee), this is your moment. Go bold with glam swimwear, wedges, or platform sandals. The more over-the-top, the better.
Vegas is all about the extra. Glitter, glam, drama—you name it. You’ll never feel overdressed, but showing up too casual? That’s the fastest way to feel out of place. So go big. This is not the city for subtlety.

What to Pack for Las Vegas
Clothing and Outfits
You’ll want to pack a mix of outfits so you’re ready for literally anything Vegas throws your way. Here are a few of my go-to options and top recommendations:
Cocktail Dresses
Heading to the nightclubs or planning a stop at one of the luxe casinos? This is your moment for cocktail dresses. Think sparkles, fringe, sequins—the more glam, the better. I always pack a few that make me feel effortless but polished. I mean, when else do you get to wear multiple cocktail dresses in one trip? Lean into it.
P.S. Want some inspo? Check out what I wore to the Caesars Palace casino over on my Instagram!
Statement Outfits
Pack one or two outfits that demand attention the second you walk in. I’m talking bold colors, fun prints, maybe even a head-turning jumpsuit or a matching set that feels right. When it comes to Vegas, flashy is the way to go. So go big, be loud, and don’t hold back. This is your moment.
Trendy Day Dresses or Rompers
If you’re planning to wander The Strip or explore Fremont Street during the day, throw on a cute romper or an easy day dress. It’ll keep you cool in that dry desert heat and have you looking cute for every snap-worthy moment. (And there are a lot of them!) Comfort and style are a big win in Vegas.
High-Waisted Denim Shorts or Mini Skirt
Not in the mood for another dress? I totally get it. Pack a pair of high-waisted denim shorts or a cute denim skirt you can mix and match with fun tops. It’s the perfect casual combo for grabbing a late breakfast after a wild night. And, of course, for strolling through shops when you want something comfortable and refined.
Cute Tops
To go with your denim shorts or skirt, toss in two or three cute tops you can mix and match. Go for breezy tanks or lightweight short sleeves—anything that’ll keep you cool while you’re out and about. Need some inspo? I paired one of my favorite tanks with a denim skirt here—such an easy go-to look!
Bathing Suits
Las Vegas and pool days go hand-in-hand. Whether you’re lounging before a big night out or dancing at a dayclub, you need a couple of swimsuits in your suitcase. I always pack at least two or three—because nothing’s worse than putting on a wet suit (ick). Plus, having options means you can match the vibe wherever you’re headed.
Cover-Ups or Kaftans
Don’t forget a cover-up or a breezy kaftan to throw over your swimsuit. You can totally go the matching set route (which I love for the photo ops), or keep it simple with one go-with-everything piece. Either way, you’ll want something to slip on when you’re walking through the hotel, popping into the bathroom, or grabbing lunch poolside.
Light Jacket or Blazer
Desert days might be hot, but once the sun dips, things cool off fast. Add in the blasting A/C in casinos and restaurants, and trust me—you’ll be glad you brought a light layer. I always pack a jacket or a sleek blazer to toss over my shoulders when the temps drop. It’s equal parts cozy and cute, and you’ll be prepared for any surprise chills.
Matching Workout Set
Got a desert day on your Vegas itinerary? Whether you’re road-tripping to the Grand Canyon, snapping pics at Antelope Canyon, or hiking through Valley of Fire State Park, you’ll want an outfit that can keep up. I always reach for a cute workout set that’s comfy, breathable, and dries quickly. Sweat will happen.
Comfy Lounge Set
I never travel without a cozy lounge set. It’s perfect for travel days (you can look at my go-to “Airport Outfits” post here) or for those chill hotel room moments when all you want is to curl up and decompress. After a night out or a full day of exploring, having something soft to slip into is a game-changer.
Shoes and Accessories
With plenty of glamorous outfit options, your shoes and accessories need to be able to keep up! Here are a few of my go-to picks:
Block Heels or Strappy Sandals
When you’re heading out for a night in Vegas, heels are basically the dress code. If you want to keep it comfy without sacrificing style, go for chunky block heels. They’re cute and way easier to walk in. But if you’re ready to fully embrace the Vegas vibe, strappy sandals or stilettos are always a showstopper.
Sneakers
Comfortable shoes are a non-negotiable when traveling, especially if you’re planning a desert adventure or Vegas strip shopping. I always pack a pair of versatile walking shoes. Perfect for walking through the airport, hitting the hotel gym, or wandering around the dunes without wrecking your feet. Total must-have.
Flip-Flops
For those lazy poolside days, don’t forget to toss in a pair of easy flip-flops. And if you’re planning to hit up a pool party, level it up with a fancier pair. Think sparkly details or a little wedge.
Small Clutch or Crossbody Bag
Whether you’re out to dinner, trying your luck at the slots, or dancing til 2 a.m., a small clutch or crossbody is your best friend. Grab something just big enough for your phone, ID, and go-to lip combo. You won’t want to be juggling a tote on the dance floor!
Oversized Sunglasses
That desert sun doesn’t play. Pack at least one pair of oversized sunnies (or three—this is Vegas, after all!). Not only will they protect your eyes, but they’ll also pull any look together. Bonus: they’re also your best accessory the morning after an exciting night.
Statement Jewelry
Vegas is all about the go big or go home energy—and that includes your jewelry. The sparklier, the better. Stack those rings, layer those necklaces, and don’t be afraid of a little extra shimmer. This is your time to shine (literally). I always pack a travel jewelry case to keep everything tangle-free—this one’s my favorite!

Beauty and Self-Care
Just because you’re on vacation mode doesn’t mean your beauty routine has to break, too. These are the must-have beauty essentials I always pack for Vegas. Glowing skin and flawless glam deserve a spot in your suitcase!
Hydrating Skincare
Desert air? Dry as ever. Your skin will feel it. That’s why hydrating skincare is non-negotiable in Vegas. Pack your favorite moisturizers, serums, and overnight masks. And don’t even think about skipping sunscreen. I swear by this one for daily protection. Between the sun and the A/C, your skin is going to need all the love it can get.
Makeup Remover Wipes
There is nothing better than peeling off your makeup after a wild Vegas night (if you remember, of course). I always toss some travel-sized makeup remover wipes in my bag when I’m on the go. They’re quick, mess-free, and a lifesaver when you just want to collapse into bed.
Glam Makeup
Bring on the sparkle. Vegas is not the place to play it safe with your makeup. Pack those shimmery eyeshadows, your biggest, boldest lashes, and that bold lipstick that turns heads. In Sin City, “too much” just means you’re doing it right.
Setting Spray
A good setting spray in Vegas? Non-negotiable. Between the heat, dance floor sweat, and splash zones by the pool, your makeup needs backup. Lock in your look so it stays flawless from brunch to bottle service (and maybe even beyond).
Hair Styling Tools
Bringing a straightener or curling iron is absolutely essential. Wherever you’re going, you’ll want your hair to look as put-together as the rest of your outfit. Most hotels have a basic blow dryer, but let’s be real—this is Vegas. Bring your go-to styling tools so you can give yourself that full glam moment before heading out.
Extras You’ll Thank Yourself For
We all have those moments on vacation when we think “I wish I would’ve thought about this earlier.” To save you the time and stress, here are a few things that’ll come in handy when you get to Vegas:
Portable Phone Charger
A dead phone in Vegas? No thank you. Toss a portable charger in your bag so you’re never stuck with 1% and no ride. Whether you’re navigating to dinner or calling that post-pool-day Uber, you’ll be glad you have it.
Refillable Water Bottle
If you’re planning to hit the hotel gym or explore the desert, a refillable bottle is a must. Vegas heat + fancy cocktails = dehydration central. Keep one in your bag so you can sip often and stay glowing all day long.
Fashion Tape
Fashion tape is your secret weapon. Trust me, when those cocktail dresses start shifting mid-dinner or right before a show, you’ll be glad you tossed some in your clutch. It keeps everything right where it should be—no wardrobe whoopsies here.
Mini First-Aid Kit
I never leave for a trip without a little first-aid kit tucked in my bag. Blisters from walking The Strip in heels? Covered. Headache after one too many cocktails? Handled. Need to sneak some electrolytes into your water before brunch? You’ll thank yourself later. It’s one of those “hope you don’t need it, but so glad you have it” kind of things.
Earplugs
I won’t sugarcoat it—Vegas never sleeps. If you’re a light sleeper or end up in a lower-floor room near the action? A pair of earplugs can be a lifesaver. You might not need them every night, but you’ll be so glad you packed them when the bass is still bumpin’ at 3 a.m.
Hand Sanitizer
One thing that is great for travel days is hand sanitizer. Getting sick on a trip is the worst. Toss a mini bottle in your bag so you’re covered. Whether you’re just touched the subway rail or walked into a bathroom with no soap in sight, you’ll be covered.
