Las Vegas is bold, flashy, and a little extra in the best way possible. Think sequins, sparkle, sky-high heels, and yes, even the occasional feather boa. It’s not Milan or Paris high fashion. It’s a look-at-me fashion. Walking down The Strip honestly feels like a runway where everyone is competing for best dressed.
But if you’re planning a trip, don’t let the fashion intimidate you. I get it, figuring out what to wear in Las Vegas with the desert heat and all those neon lights can feel overwhelming. My first visit to Las Vegas had me panicking a little due to feeling like I didn’t own the right clothes for it. That’s exactly why I’m breaking it all down for you.
Whether you’re heading to the casinos, pool parties, rooftop dinners, or just exploring The Strip, I’m sharing my favorite Las Vegas outfit ideas. This way, you can pack with confidence and know exactly what deserves a spot in your suitcase for Sin City.
What to Wear in Las Vegas: 5 Photo-Ready Looks for Every Vibe
The best part of Las Vegas? It’s not just one vibe. You can be hiking in the desert in the morning and sipping cocktails at a rooftop restaurant by night. From national parks under that blazing sun to glitzy dinners and world-famous clubs, every activity has its own little dress code moment.
And it’s not just about what you’re doing, it’s about what the weather’s like, too. Vegas heat is no joke during the day, but then you step inside, and it’s full blast A/C everywhere. My first trip to Vegas was in the month of August, which is pretty much guarenteed to be the hottest of hot. You’re constantly going from desert sun to chilly casinos, restaurants, and hotels. Knowing that ahead of time makes packing so much easier.
If you’re still not totally sure what to bring, I’ve got you. Head over to my “Las Vegas Packing List” for a full breakdown (from clothing to toiletries) so you can pack smart and stress-free.

What’s the Weather in Las Vegas?
Las Vegas weather can seriously mess with your outfit planning if you don’t know about it ahead of time. The Nevada desert heat? It’s intense. When I visited in the summer (shoutout to that direct Allegiant flight from Indy!), it was easily 100-110°F during the day. The dry air and blazing sun are serious, so dressing light and breathable is absolutely essential.
But here’s the thing: while it feels like an oven outside, indoors is basically Antarctica. Casinos, restaurants, stores, everyone cranks the A/C. So even if it’s triple digits, I always recommend carrying a light blazer, sweater, or wrap. You’ll thank yourself at dinner.
Spring and fall are a little more forgiving. Days are still warm, but nights cool off fast, so a light jacket is perfect. And if you’re heading there in winter, you’ll definitely want layers and a proper coat. Which, by the way, I highly recommend. I talk all about how perfect Vegas is at the end of the year in my post, “Best New Year’s Destinations.”
Ultimately, Vegas keeps you on your toes when it comes to the weather. Packing smart and planning your outfits makes all the difference.
Is There a Dress Code in Las Vegas?
So… does Las Vegas have a dress code? No. But also, yes.
The city itself doesn’t have one overall rulebook. You can walk The Strip in pretty much anything. But specific places? That’s a different story.
Certain restaurants, clubs, and even some casinos have dress codes. For example, flip-flops might be totally fine at a pool party or day club… but not at a steakhouse or upscale lounge. It really depends on what’s on your itinerary.
Heading to a nightclub? This is your moment. Go bold, glam, and a little bit extra. Lounging at the hotel pool? Way more relaxed and casual.
When in doubt, do a quick vibe check. I always peek at the venue’s website or scroll through their Instagram to see what people are actually wearing. It takes two minutes and saves you from that awkward “wait… am I underdressed?” moment at the door.

What Do You Wear in Las Vegas?
Winter Outfits for Las Vegas
Desert Brunch Muse: Wool Coat, Knit Sweater, Jeans, and Suede Ankle Boots
Winter in Vegas can surprise you. It’s sunny, yes, but that desert breeze can cool things down. So, layering is your best friend. If you’re heading out for coffee on The Strip or a little retail therapy (because obviously), this look is equal parts chic and comfortable.
Start with a slightly oversized cream knit sweater. Then pair it with high-waisted straight-leg jeans in a light or medium wash. Do a little French tuck to give your waist some shape (it makes all the difference!) Layer on a long camel wool coat and finish with suede ankle boots for that polished, effortless vibe. If the sun comes out strong, just drape the coat over your shoulders.
For accessories, go bold but clean: oversized sunglasses, a structured leather crossbody, and chunky gold hoops. If it’s extra crisp in the morning, add a lightweight scarf. Bonus points if it’s a fun print that adds a little personality to the neutral base.
Casual Outfits for Las Vegas
Poolside Off-Duty: Linen Button-Down, Denim Shorts, and Low-Top Sneakers
Vegas casual? It still needs a little main-character energy. Even if you’re “just” heading to the pool, grabbing a smoothie, or casually wandering through a hotel lobby like you might book a cabana. If you want relaxed but still polished, this outfit is it.
Start with an oversized white or beige linen button-down. Leave a few buttons undone and roll the sleeves to your elbows. Underneath, wear a neutral bralette or bikini top if you’re pool-bound. Do a subtle half-tuck in the front to define your waist while keeping that effortless, breezy feel. Pair it with high-waisted structured denim shorts, skip the heavy distressing and go for clean lines instead.
For shoes, I love crisp white leather sneakers. Vegas involves way more walking than you think, and comfort is non-negotiable. If you’re truly staying poolside, sleek flat sandals work too, but sneakers keep it elevated and city-ready.
Accessories should feel glowy and minimal: chic sunglasses, slim gold hoops, and maybe a delicate anklet for subtle detail. Add a neutral crossbody or belt bag so your hands are free for iced coffee or your phone. This outfit is breathable, chic, and says “I’m on vacation,” without screaming it. And in Vegas, that balance is everything.

Summer Outfits for Las Vegas
Desert Heat Goddess: Linen Mini Dress, Strappy Sandals, and Crossbody Bag
Dressing for Vegas summer heat can feel like a challenge. It’s bright, bold, and hot in every possible way. So your outfit needs to match the energy. If you’re out during the day at a rooftop brunch, walking The Strip, or ducking into casinos for AC, this look keeps you cool but still glam.
Start with a linen or cotton mini dress in a soft neutral like white, sand, or sage. Fabric is everything here. You want something airy that moves with you and doesn’t cling in the heat. Keep the silhouette simple (slightly fitted or softly structured) so it feels elevated. If it’s a shirt dress, unbutton it just enough and roll the sleeves for that relaxed, undone vibe. If it’s sleeveless, let those clean lines do the work.
On your feet, go with tan or nude strappy flat sandals. They’re practical for walking but polished enough for a spontaneous lunch somewhere chic. Now add a woven straw or raffia crossbody for texture. It gives that subtle desert-luxury contrast against sunlit fabric and glowy skin.
It’s effortless, breathable, and looks incredible against a Vegas backdrop. And that desert heat? Fully handled.
Sexy Outfits for Las Vegas
Metallic Temptation: Satin Mini Dress, Heeled Sandals, and Mini Shoulder Bag
Las Vegas after dark is pure electricity. The lights get brighter, the music gets louder, and you’ll want to outfit to match that vibe perfectly. If you’re heading to a club, rooftop party, or anywhere with a DJ and bottle service, this look is meant to catch the light from every angle.
Start with a metallic mini dress in silver, liquid gold, chrome, or even deep gunmetal. Go for shine, sleek, and something reflective—not costume sparkle and glitter overload. A one-shoulder, open-back, or body-skimming silhouette keeps it modern and elevated.
For shoes, choose metallic strappy heels. Silver with silver, gold with gold—keep it cohesive. If you want that extra leg-lengthening effect, go for a barely-there sandal with a thin ankle strap. Lastly, keep your bag small and structured. A mini shoulder bag with a chain strap or a sleek metallic clutch is perfect. Nothing oversized.
Classy Outfits for Las Vegas
Champagne Reserve: Satin Midi Dress, Pointed-Toe Heels, and Mini Top-Handle Bag
When you visit Sin City, you’ll notice there’s a definite wild side, but there’s also those quiet, glamorous moments. Think candlelit dinners, piano lounges, and tableside champagne pours.
Start with a satin midi dress in cream, champagne, or soft ivory. You want fabric that skims your body without clinging, moves with you as you walk, and catches the light beautifully. In a city that leans flashy, a midi-length feels timeless and elevated.
Layer on a tailored blazer in black or camel. Keep the shoulders structured for that polished look. If the weather is a bit too warm, drape it over your shoulders for an editorial touch. On your feet, go for pointed-toe heels in nude or black. The sharp toe balances the softness of the stain and elongates your legs.
When it comes to your bag, it should be small and structured. A top-handle mini or sleek clutch is perfect. Lastly, your accessories should whisper, not shout. Pearl studs or delicate diamonds are perfect here. This isn’t the loudest look in the room. But, it is confident, timeless, and something you wear when you want to look like you belong at the best table, because you absolutely do!
