Eddie Merlot’s is famous for its exceptional service experience, and our most recent visit there was no different. We stopped in to try out some of their new menu items and the entire staff was fantastic from start to finish!
We went in for a little belated birthday celebration the day after mine, and they even brought over a birthday card for me that the staff had signed. This was such a nice touch!
They recently added some new items to their menu and revamped a few older ones. The new items can be found throughout the entire menu from the starters and salads to the entrees and sides. Any time a favorite restaurant of mine comes out with a new menu, I like to try as many of the options as possible, which is exactly what we did!
Eddie Merlot’s New Menu Items
Wines
I was so impressed with their extensive wine list (and a little overwhelmed!) but our waitress was very knowledgeable of the wines and helped me select the perfect buttery chardonnay. Austin ordered the Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned, which included Aperol. I HAD to try that out since I love Aperol, but have never had it with bourbon before. It was delicious!
Appetizers
Next up we ordered a few of the new starters to try out. I was most excited about their Lobster “Escargot” which is like escargot, but with lobster! I could seriously eat a few plates of this as my dinner and be completely fine with that. We also tried the calamari which is covered in a lemon sauce. Both were delicious!
They also have a new salad on the menu which our waitress highly recommended. It’s the Baby Kale salad, and it is definitely not at all what I was expecting! Some kale salads tend to be a bit bitter, but with this one’s candied pecans, goat cheese and lemon vinaigrette dressing it was mouth-watering from the first bite.
Entrées
For our entrees, we chose two of the new ones. I got the Pan Seared Scallops (because scallops are my FAVORITE!) and Austin got the Pork Chops. The scallops were delicious, especially the carrot puree they were served with. I definitely found myself steaking quite a few bites of the pork chops. They were cooked better than any ones I’ve had before! Very juicy, not at all dry like some tend to be at other places.
Sides
As far as sides we tried some of the new ones of course! The Cauliflower Au Gratin includes a five cheese sauce, so I was sold at that. The Corn Casserole was my favorite! I was just thinking about how great of a Thanksgiving side it would be when I saw they’re actually selling sides in bulk for those who don’t want to cook! Dessert
In the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, we finished up with their seasonal dessert: Mini Apple Pie. This was the perfect size for two, and it’s smothered in their homemade caramel sauce. You also have the option of adding a scoop of ice cream which would be amazing!
Overall, we had such an amazing time! I’ll definitely be back for the great food and phenomenal service.
