The Oakmont

I attended the soft opening for The Oakmont this past weekend, and I was very impressed! The Oakmont is a brand new cocktail bar and restaurant on Mass Ave that just took over the old Krueger’s Tavern location. The front door is just around the corner behind The Eagle on Mass Ave. It’s hard to miss the large white building with the logo, market lights, and amazing outdoor space.

Upon walking in, I was immediately in awe of the atmosphere. It felt edgy, trendy and even a little fancy all at the same time. They have a large bar area with a lit up logo sign, a few lounge areas with modern furniture, and plenty of tables. The artwork and murals on the walls throughout the space is all done by local artists, and you can see some time lapse videos of it on their Instagram page!

The Oakmont Cocktails

I can tell they’ve put a lot of thought into their cocktails, and each one we tried was delicious! We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were really helpful at walking us through the brand new cocktail and food menu. We had the Panic at the Pisco (Capel Pisco, Reservado, Pineapple, Angostura, Demerara, Paprika, Lime), the Pencil Pusher (Buffalo Trace, Averna, Orange), and the To The Moon (Tanqueray Gin, Earl Grey, Lemon, Tonic). My favorite one I tried was the Panic at the Pisco. They also have a pretty good bourbon selection started already! I’m really excited to stop back in for drinks again.

The Oakmont Food & Dessert

As far as food, they have a pretty good variety. I’m always a huge fan of getting drinks and appetizers, so I’d say those were my favorite part. The Fried Deviled Eggs definitely caught my attention when they shared them as a menu sneak peek, and they did not disappoint! I highly recommend ordering those on EVERY visit, maybe even get two orders because they’re that good. We also tried the Garlic Truffle Fries, The Italian Classic, and the Atlantic Salmon, which were all fantastic. The O.G Burger, Oakmont Chicken Sandwich, Buddha Bowl and salads also looked good, so we’ll probably try those on our next visit.

I 100% recommend getting their Confetti Donut Holes for dessert! I rarely remember to order dessert, but you won’t regret trying these out. These were SO good. The Oakmont also have a brunch menu I’m going to have to check out ASAP!

Overall, I’d say The Oakmont is a great addition to Mass Ave. It’s just what that area needed, and we already can’t wait to go back. They are officially open now, so go check it out for yourself!
