Miracle on South Street Christmas Pop-up Bar

It’s no secret that I am a VERY festive person. From Halloween through Christmas I am all in on every holiday tradition. A new favorite tradition of mine is visiting the pop-up Christmas bar, Miracle on South Street, downtown inside the Alexander hotel.

This is the second year they’ve had the pop-up bar come to Indy, and I am so glad that they did. The entire place is covered in lights and classic Christmas nostalgia. For those of you who went last year: keep in mind it has been moved inside this year!

One thing I love is that this year they let the staff add a lot of personal touches to the decor such as old family Christmas photos and personalized notes as the tree’s garland. They’ve got classic storybooks on the tables, and stockings hung by the fireplace. This year’s theme is “Grandma’s House” and they really nailed it!

Drinks

As far as the drinks go they offer quite the selection. There are ten different cocktails, as well as a few naughty and nice shots to choose from. First, we tried the Christmapolitan which is vodka, elderflower, dry vermouth, spiced cranberry sauce, rosemary, lime, and absinthe mist.

Next up was the Snowball Old-Fashioned which is caramelized pecan bourbon (yum!), spiced molasses syrup, wormwood bitters, and orange essence.

My absolute favorite one that I tried was the Jingle Balls Nog which includes brown butter and cinnamon fat-washed cognac, amontillado sherry, almond milk, cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and nutmeg. It is DELICIOUS, and could definitely sneak up on you!
