DIY Bridesmaid Proposals

As many of you know, I recently got engaged back in May! So far we have all of the major wedding planning items checked off our list such as date, venue, and photographer. Even though the wedding is still over a year away we can’t wait to jump into the rest of planning!

One thing that took me forever to get done was sending out my bridesmaid “proposals.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure these girls sure knew they would be a part of my big day, but I still wanted to officially ask them in a fun way! I’m incredibly particular (or picky if we want to call it that) and I was having such a hard time finding the perfect gift while searching for bridal party proposal gifts and boxes online. I found a variety of pre-made options, but each time I found something I didn’t like about them whether it be the color, style or lack of usefulness of an item included.

I finally decide to go with a completely custom option so that I could pick each item out myself, and fit it around a theme. I ended up creating these adorable fall-themed boxes for my bridal party since my wedding is next fall, and it could not have been easier!

I started with finding the perfect box. I kept seeing ones that were either cardboard or paper and wasn’t a fan of how they were disposable just because I wanted to make sure these could be used again! When I found these personalized wooden boxes on Etsy, I knew they were the perfect choice. Not only are they great for presentation of the gift, but they can be used again for trinkets and storage purposes. Plus, they included each girl’s name on them. Starting to wish I had ordered myself one!

They came with the paper filling already inside, and also included the ribbon and gold leaf ties. I picked up some red eucalyptus at Michael’s and added it for a fall decorative touch.

You can find the boxes in a variety of sizes (I ordered large) here: Box and Bow Shop

Filling the boxes is the fun part! I knew I wanted to go with a fall theme and include a lot of gold! The main piece I wanted to include are these adorable “tie the knot” bracelets. I’m a big fan of this style of bracelet, and I even found a shop on Etsy that would add an initial charm too. I can’t even count the amount of times I double and triple checked that I had the right charm bracelet in the correct personalized box.

You can find the “Tie the Knot” bracelets here, and they are even on sale right now: Vantage Ways

Next up were the fun fall items, and I found these cute gold mini pumpkin spice candles at Target! They also have them in Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Pumpkin Honeycomb.

Here is another stunning Pumpkin Spice Candle that could work.

The little white and gold pumpkins were my favorite part because I am obsessed with fall (hence the October wedding). I’d seen them at a variety of craft stores but couldn’t find enough. I ended up finding them on Amazon! You can purchase them here: Mini White and Gold Pumpkins.

Here is a similar Mini White and Gold Pumpkin option that come in a foam material.

Finally, I finished off packing the box with a card that officially said “Will you be my Maid of Honor” and “Will you be my Bridesmaid?” These came in a 10-pack with plenty of extras. You can find the cards here: Proposal Cards

Overall, I was SO excited with how these boxes ended up turning out! My MOH and bridesmaids really liked them, and I’m so glad I spent the extra time coming up with something more personalized and custom. October can’t come soon enough!
