Carmel’s third annual Christkindlmarkt officially opens up on Saturday, November 16th at noon. This has been a favorite of mine over the last few years, and I can tell the tradition is here to stay! “Christkindlmarkt” is the German term for a traditional Christmas market. They began in Germany and have been popular in cities such as Chicago. Now the tradition has made its way to Indiana.
We got the chance to visit the Media Preview Day earlier this week and check out all of this year’s vendors. The market features an ice skating rink, mulled wine, hand-crafted ornaments, toys, German food and more. Definitely snag yourself one of the collector’s mugs of mulled wine! This year the mug is white, and the previous ones were red and green.
The Carmel Christkindlmarkt will run on Wednesdays through Sundays from November 16th-December 24th. You can see the full hours here: https://www.carmelchristkindlmarkt.com/
