If there’s one thing I’m always down for, it’s a taco night.
I recently stopped in to check out the new Samano’s Taqueria in Downtown Fishers. This is Samano’s second location on the northside, including one other spot in Noblesville.
The new restaurant is located right in the heart of the Nickel Plate District, right next to Brixx Pizza. With all the hustle and bustle of this area’s many shops, boutiques and apartments, this is definitely the place to be. I really loved the entire interior with it’s modern take on what you typically expect at a taqueria.
While Samano’s may be considered “fast food,” all their menu items are made-to-order with fresh ingredients. The restaurant is set up to where you walk in and place your order off of the large menu up front. Then you pick a table out of the variety of options including booths, and wait. I was impressed with how quickly our appetizer was brought out to us, and the rest service was nice and quick.
We tried a variety of menu options including an appetizer, the salsa bar, a couple of entrees and dessert. Everything was DELICIOUS.
If you know me at all, then you know my all-time favorite food is a gigantic plate of loaded nachos. I definitely don’t eat them as often as I did in college (probably for the best) but they’re still my go-to during cheat meals. Scratch that, cheat weekends. We split an order of these as an appetizer and to be honest I was so impressed I would’ve been satisfied if these had been my meal.
The owner, Adrian, recommended a couple of entrees for us, and we decided on “Adrian’s Burrito” and the “Gringa Special.”
The Adrian’s Burrito is a game-changer. It’s completely wrapped in bacon and filled with choice of meat, avocado, chipotle, rice, beans, cheese and peppers. The Gringa Special is served up quesadilla-style, and it’s filled with marinated pork, seasoned steak, ham, pineapple, bacon and cheese.
To finish off the perfect meal, we enjoyed the Tres Leches cake for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we will DEFINITELY be back!
